Product Overview:

*Note: This User Manual describes both VSSD JSC Deluxe and VSSD JSC Free version. The VSSD JSC Free Version doesn't support certain features that are included in the Deluxe version. Whenever you see this sign it means that this feature is not supported in the Free Version of VSSD JSC.

The VSSD Java Shopping Cart (VSSD JSC) is an applet that runs under a Java enabled browser that supports Java version 1.0 and higher. There is no need for any type of server software. The VSSD JSC uses regular HTTP server and *SMTP email or *FTP file server to process transactions. The Deluxe version also supports CGI order processing where the CGI script on the server sends email messages. The CGI script is provided with the deluxe version. The design philosophy of VSSD JSC was to create a simple and affordable way of doing business on the Internet.

The basic function of the VSSD JSC is very simple. The customer clicks on the VSSD JSC button to load it. After the applet is loaded the customer can view items and place them into a shopping cart. When the customer is ready to check out he simply clicks on the checkout button.  The checkout form will be displayed where he enters needed information and submits it. The State or Country VAT tax and Shipping & Handling charges are calculated automatically. The encrypted email order will be send to the merchant.  The customer gets email confirmation receipt. The merchant will decrypt each order with the Java Shopping Cart Decrypt utility program (JSCD). Every character string used by JSC Deluxe is stored in the JSCStrings.ini file. You can translate this ini file into any language of your choice making the VSSD JSC Deluxe an International cart applet.

*Some providers have restricted FTP that doesn't support all FTP commands like PASV, for example. The FTP server MUST run on the same computer as web server otherwise you will get Java security error. The email server also must run on the same computer.
